Funding

The maintenance and distribution of the RNAi library currently costs approx. 500,000 EUR p.a. Approximately half of these costs are covered by funding contributed equally from the City of Vienna and the Austrian Federal Ministry of Science and Research. The remainder is covered by user fees.

Additional funding for this research infrastructure is currently being sought from various national and European funding agencies.

Independent research activities within the VDRC are supported entirely by grants and research contracts awarded to the individual research groups, including the positions of the team leaders themselves.
